Here are some of our favorite South of the Border options:

Tacos

Tacos are a traditional Mexican food consisting of a small hand-sized corn- or wheat-based tortilla topped with fillings. They are designed to be held in your hand to eat. The tortilla can be soft wrapped, hard shell or deep fried and can be made from wheat or corn.

A taco can be made with a variety of fillings, including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, beans, vegetables, and cheese. Other popular garnishes include various condiments, such as salsa, guacamole, and sour cream, along with lettuce, tomatoes, and chiles. Check out our taco recipes here.

Smoky Chorizo and Chicken Pozole

This Smoky Chorizo and Chicken Pozole relies on the bold, hearty, spicy taste of Cacique’s Pork Chorizo combined with handcrafted Homestyle Salsa. Queso Fresco’s crumbly, creamy texture and milky, fresh flavor adds the perfect finishing touch, making this soup a perfect way to warm up weeknights with just the right amount of heat. Check out our recipe here.

Mexican Loaded Mashed Potatoes

For a flavorful side that complements a variety of main courses while adding Mexican flair, consider Mexican Loaded Mashed Potatoes. This recipe is a familiar favorite with the unique twist of bacon and Pork Chorizo for a meat-infused recipe that will become a menu mainstay. Check out our recipe here.

Grilled Mexican Street Corn

There is absolutely no way to eat this messy corn on the cob delicately, but usually you’re not alone since half of the other people gathering for the event are equally covered in it as well. Small-town events and their street cart food mean that summer is really here! Check out our recipe here.
