Holiday Rolls are notorious for being full of cream and butter. While making them irresistibly delicious, these ingredients are full of calories and fat. This roll recipe takes away these fat-filled ingredients and replaces them with foods like almond milk without sacrificing the taste.
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups white whole wheat flour
- 1 ½ tsp herbs de Provence
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 2 tbsp distilled white vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, herbs de Provence, baking soda, and salt. Make a well in the center. Pour in the milk and vinegar. Stir together until the flour is just incorporated.
- Divide the dough into 12 portions, and transfer each onto the prepared baking sheet. Moisten your fingers and palms with a bit of water, roll each into a ball, and flatten into a disc that’s ¾”tall. Using a sharp knife, score the top with a (+) sign if desired.
- Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-16 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool.
