Biotin, is part of the B complex group of vitamins. All B vitamins help the body to convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which is used to produce energy.

Although many people may not realize it, having a biotin deficiency is very common. To prevent these deficiencies, some people take biotin supplements to increase their daily intake of this necessary vitamin. If your skin is chronically dry or irritated, adding more biotin to your daily diet or taking a supplement may give your skin the moisture it needs.

Although the discussion of how taking biotin impacts our health is still ongoing, it is proven that this vitamin is a crucial nutrient for the body to function correctly. If you’re not getting enough biotin in your daily diet, consider adding more biotin-rich foods to your meals or consult a health care provider to discuss starting biotin supplements.
