Vitamin Angels Worldwide Expansion Plans Help Over 140 Million People

Vitamin Angels is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving nutrition and health in low-income communities worldwide. The organization started in 1994 and has only grown in popularity and success over those 30 years. They are on the brink of a large expansion set to double its prenatal vitamin program’s impact over the next five years. They are collaborating with new partners to expand their reach across the world with a goal to help over 140 million women and children by 2033.

Pregnant women all over the globe do not get enough vitamins to support themselves or their babies. Over 3 billion people are malnourished worldwide and more than one-third of women globally do not get the proper nutrients they need to have successful pregnancies.  Malnutrition causes poor maternal health and increased risk of birth complications for both mother and child. Vitamin Angels is planning to change this with their expansion of their maternal vitamins program. Vitamin Angels currently works with over 1,200 local organizations to reach over 72 million women and children in over 60 countries every year.

With the new expansion of their company, the President and founder of Vitamin Angels, Howard Schiffer, has decided to take a step down from CEO in order to take a more strategic role in the company. He will remain the founder and a board member while also working in an executive role providing strategic insight. He stated “it’s been an incredible journey leading this organization for the past 30 years. I am looking forward to this next chapter of growth for Vitamin Angels and continuing to support or efforts in my new role as ambassador.” In their search for a new CEO, Vitamin Angels is “committed to making health a human right for everyone, everywhere.”
