Grilled Sweet Potatoes

Grilled Sweet Potatoes- an easy and healthy side dish that goes great with any meal. Fire up the grill and enjoy grilled sweet potatoes with your favorite sauces and condiments! Grilling adds great flavor and the best part? You don’t have to heat up the house.
Grill the potatoes until they are soft, tender, and have perfect grill marks. Serve as an appetizer or side dish with your favorite sauces. They go great with any meal! Kids and adults love them!

How to make Grilled Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, scrubbed well
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Oil the grill grates and preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Use a sharp knife to slice the potatoes 1/4-inch-thick rounds. Place the potatoes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Use tongs to place the sweet potatoes onto the hot grill. Cook for 4 to 7 minutes on each side or until the potatoes are tender and charred on each side. Check early to be safe, every grill is different.
  4. Transfer the potatoes to a plate or platter and serve warm.
  5. The grilled sweet potatoes are good plain, or you can serve them with your favorite sauces.

Seasonings– This recipe called to keep it simple and use salt and pepper. If you want to add more flavor, you can toss the sweet potatoes in additional seasonings. A few favorites include: smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, rosemary, thyme, and if you want to add a spicy kick, add a little cayenne pepper. Be careful, a little goes a long way.

Serve with your own homemade Greek Yogurt Dipping Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2-4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 garlic cloves pressed or chopped
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Directions:

  • In a small bowl, mix 2-4 tablespoons lime juice, 3 garlic cloves, 1 cup Greek yogurt, ½ teaspoon paprika, ¼ teaspoon cumin, and ¼ teaspoon cayenne. Add ¼ teaspoon salt. Stir until smooth and refrigerate. Serve as great dipping sauce for the grilled sweet potatoes.
